Like a sharp, cooling breeze from the North our approach to tribal belly dance is open and honest and no — nonsense. Tribal dance is all about celebrating the community from which it comes - we are mostly Northern classes - our hearts and souls are dancing ever upward, but our feet remain on the ground. North Wind is a dance tribe based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, UK. We were the first group - formed in 2001 by Chris Ogden at Oakbank School to experiment with tribal style belly dance in our area. We are still the only open class/troupe meeting regularly in the area and for some considerable space around. The style is now being taught in classes in Keighley, Halifax and Nelson (Lancs.). Our Sister tribe Four Hundred Roses is a dedicated performance troupe - set up in 2005 - who are creating a unique Tribal UK fusion style. There is some cross-over - in people and dance style - between the two groups, though they are independent.
